Former Minister Emphasizes Significance of NIN-SIM Policy in Light of Tragic Ransom Situation
In a deeply sorrowful development, Professor Isa Ali Ibrahim, CON, the former Nigeria Minister of Communication and Digital Economy shared his personal stance against paying ransom to Kidnappers. This comes as a Nigerian family grieves the loss of their daughter, Nabeeha who was killed by Kidnappers. The father, Mansoor Al-Kadriyar, disclosed that the family had received threats against their remaining five daughters if the 60Million Naira ransom are not paid.
In a heartening display of support, Prof. Isa Ali Ibrahim tweeted that he had facilitated a close friend and brother to contribute 50 million Naira towards the demanded ransom of 60 million Naira. The funds were promptly sent directly to Mansoor Al-Kadriyar’s account,

The follower suggested leveraging the policy to track the personal data and location of the phone numbers involved in the ongoing negotiation, highlighting the potential loss of trust in the policy due to its perceived ineffectiveness.
In response, Professor Isa Ali Ibrahim acknowledged the effectiveness of the NIN-SIM policy in combating criminal activities.
