NCC issued an Enforcement Notice against the Unauthorized use of 5.4GHz.
The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has issued an enforcement notice regarding the unauthorised use of the 5.4 GHz frequency band.
In an enforcement notice signed by Reuben Muoka, Director of the Public Affairs Department, NCC informs operators, private/public organizations, and the public that the use of this frequency band without a valid license is illegal and constitutes a criminal offense under the Nigerian Communications Act (NCA), 2003.
The Notice provides a 14-day deadline for unlicensed operators to cease transmission and usage of equipment on this band. Failure to comply may result in enforcement actions, including prosecution, fines, and confiscation of equipment.
The detailed regulations and guidelines on this can be found on the NCC website under Licensing and Regulation (Regulatory Functions) for further information.
