Former Twitter CEO, Jack Dorsey Launches Bluesky – A twitter alternative

Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey has been developing a new social media platform called Bluesky since 2019, with funding from Twitter. Bluesky promises to be a “social internet” that gives users more choices and frees them from the constraints of traditional social media platforms. The app is currently only accessible by invite code, with around 20,000 users in its beta version.

Although some users have noted similarities to Twitter, Bluesky developers hope to eventually give users “algorithmic choice,” allowing them to determine how content is delivered to their screens instead of relying on a single algorithm controlled by the app’s developers.
