NECO 2024 Results: Abia State Shines with Highest Pass Rate
Abia State has emerged as a standout performer in the recently released NECO 2024 examination results, boasting an impressive pass rate of 83.40% among its students.
This year, a total of 1,367,736 candidates sat for the exams nationwide, with 60.5% (827,480) achieving passing marks. Abia’s exceptional results have been credited to the efforts of the Labour Party and Governor Alex Otti, who have been hailed by indigenes for their contributions to educational reforms in the state.

In a concerning development, the NECO Registrar/Chief Executive, Professor Dantani Wushishi, reported that a school in Ekiti was found to have engaged in extensive cheating and has been recommended for de-registration. Moreover, a total of 40 schools from 17 states are under scrutiny for mass cheating, prompting discussions with the council.
The examination oversight was further marred by the misconduct of 21 supervisors across 12 states, who have been recommended for blacklisting due to various infractions, including poor supervision and extortion.
