The Federal Government, through the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), has issued licenses to 25 companies, generating N5.9 billion in revenue. These licenses enable the companies to operate as Mobile Virtual Network Operators (MVNOs), enhancing telecom services across the country.

Under the NCC framework, the MVNO licenses have a 10-year tenure with varying prices. Ranging from Tier 1 to Tier 5, license costs start from N35 million up to N500 million, encouraging competition and innovation in the telecom sector.

The introduction of MVNOs aims to provide consumers with more choices, improved service delivery, and affordable telecom options. The move is expected to drive investment, foster healthy competition, and contribute to Nigeria’s digital transformation.

As these new operators enter the market, consumers can anticipate an enhanced telecom landscape, promising better services and increased connectivity.
