Undersea Cable Cuts Disrupt Data and Voice Services in Nigeria
Multiple undersea cable cuts along the West African Coast have resulted in significant disruptions to data and fixed telecom services in Nigeria. The cuts, which occurred in Cote d’Ivoire and Senegal, have also impacted other West African countries, including Ghana, Senegal, and Cote d’Ivoire.
Internet access and speed in Nigeria have been severely affected, causing disruptions in the networks of service providers. The major undersea cable companies, such as the West African Cable System (WACS) and African Coast to Europe (ACE), have reported equipment faults, while SAT3 and MainOne have experienced downtime.
Repair efforts are currently underway, with the cable operators working around the clock to restore services as quickly as possible. Corporate and individual consumers in Nigeria are advised to remain patient and stay updated with their respective service providers for further information and updates.
